In Canasta, players are needed to meld three or more than three cards of the same rank irrespective of the suit. Players can make additional melds by adding wild card joker cards or by adding cards of a similar rank.

5.    Contract Rummy

It is one of the popular variants of a rummy card game which is based on Gin Rummy. This form of rummy is also known as Wild Rummy or Joker Rummy. In Contract Rummy, players are required to play 7 rounds. In each round, players are required to form a combination of sequences. In contract rummy, players are dealt with 10 cards to play the first four rounds. While 12 cards are given to play the last three rounds. 6.    500 Rummy

500 Rummy is also known as Persian Rummy or Pinochle. The rules of the game are related to Classic Rummy games. 500 Rummy is played with 2 to 8 players. The preferable players needed to play this card game are between 3 to 5. In 500 Rummy, players have to meld cards to form sets of 3 or 4 cards. 7.    Rummikub

It is another variant of rummy which is a blend of Mahjong and Rummy. It is the most popular variant of rummy played in Europe and Asia. It is played with 104 tiles which are similar to two decks of cards and the numbered tiles are between 1 to 13. Every player is given 14 tiles from which they are required to form sets. 8.    Dummy Rummy

This variant of rummy is similar to Contract Rummy and 13- Card Rummy. To play the Dummy Rummy game a minimum of 2 players and a maximum of 4 players are needed.
